Why Epic?

2004: The Epic Story Unfolds

A handful of people met in Tim’s basement in December 2004 with the crazy dream of creating a relevant church that would help people searching for God, discover the God who is searching for them. With nothing but a Bible, a passion for God and a blank piece of paper, we watched as God began to write our story.

2005: Foundations

In the early stages we partnered with Trinity Lutheran Church in Utica to work together to reach the community. We benefited with space for worship and they benefited with the foundations of a new worship experience called Journey. We launched into the community on September 25, 2005 at the AMC 30 movie theater with the series “Life is a Ride.”

2006: So Far, So God

Our mission was to be a church for the unchurched and each week we were amazed by God’s faithfulness. People new to church were discovering more about Jesus Christ and taking their next steps in following Him with Starting Point and Fusion Small Groups. We moved to our current location at Hart Middle School.

2007 - present: Your Role in the Story

From that first worship experience “Life is a Ride” until now, we’ve seen that life, in many ways is like a rollercoaster. There will be ups and downs, long waits in line, and fears to rise above. But on the flipside, the rollercoaster of life is full of thrill, adrenaline pumping excitement, and adventure around every turn. There’s never a dull day when God’s involved in your life. So buckle up and live the epic adventure of following God.
